Why should Kalidasa be compared with Shakespeare? The former lived in 6th century CE (if the argument that his period was 1st century BC is not considered), whereas the latter lived during 16th-17th century BE, at least 1000 years later! If comparison is required at all, Shakespeare may be compared with Kalidasa.
