Featured Article Policy Proposal

Following is my proposed policy for featured articles. It aims to make a standard way to select featured articles and remove featured status.

Requirements to be featured

1. Should contain enough inline references.
2. Should be unbiased and give reliable reference to any controversial or debated claim.
3. Should not have more than 1 red links per 100 words.
4. Should be grammatically correct.
5. Should have at least primary vowel sandhi done.
6. Easy sandhi like writing "मित्रमस्ति"instead of "मित्रम् अस्ति", i.e. not leaving vowel-less last consonant in a word if word following it starts with a vowel.
7. Should have at least 2 external links at a 'Further Reading' section.

Process of selection

Nomination and selection

Featured articles can be nominated by any member of Sanskrit Wikipedia at Nomination page. Nominations would be discussed as per concept of consensus that if the article is legitimately featured article as per above requirements. Then after 4 days of nomination a Beaurocrat/Admin would act as per consensus and approve if an article is an featured article. If rejected twice, the article can't be nominated for 15 days. If an article is elected it would be added to featured page category and a template of featured page would be added.
