Stubs
- According to me, 10 full articles are better than 100 one-line articles. It is better if articles contain at least 2 paragraphs (probably totaling to around 10 sentences). I do not recommend very small articles.

Disagree
[सम्पादयतु]You said that stub articles are not good for Wikipedia. I have a different view on it. As Sanskrit Grammar is little tough, it is difficult to create long articles. During one of his recent visits to India, Jimmy Wales mentioned how stub articles on the populated places in United States drove the growth of English Wikipedia. People hailing from these places would google their hometowns and arrive at Wikipedia. They would then start adding the missing details to these articles, becoming active contributors in the process. Currently we have a mission of 5000 articles on this wiki. Sanskrit Wiki has done better than other wikis of dead languages of its age but can do better. Thanks for your opinion. - There are billions of English users, and even millions of Hindi users. Sanskrit only has a handful. We cannot realistically foresee a large community like English Wiki, and hence, a stub article serves no real purpose. Yes Michael?
- My two cents on this topic. I disagree on the part that stub articles don't serve a purpose. I do not think we have a Sanskrit editor who can converse in Sanskrit. Most of us find it difficult to write a full paragraph at the same speed that we might take for English or our Mother tongue. Stubs can be the first stepping stone towards creating large articles and at the same time increasing your procifiency and hold over the language. Also agree that stubs left as it is will not serve any purpose. Stubs should be improved upon and made into a full fledged article. I think for most of us, if not for me atleast, the incentive is in seeing the article count increase. A small award to ask for I think. Maybe we should pledge to contribute atleast 5 full fledged articles per 100 stubs created.
- Hmmm, maybe. Yes, I know that it is difficult to create big articles, and that they are the stepping stone. But what tends to happen is that once we have a good article count, we lay back and sit still. I know that the article count is an incentive, but it should not mean that we should compromise on quality. If we go back and expand all of our stubs, then it should be fine I think. Appreciate everyone for their views! :) Yes Michael?
- Yes, that is what I fear too, including about myself, that once we achieve a target, we should not stop at it, but create larger articles and get proficient in the language. On a side note, shouldn't we be discussing such larger topics on the Community Portal ?
- Technically, Yes. But this was meant to be Vaibhav's reply. The conversation is now broken into pieces. I think it should remain here. It will become messy if we move it all now. Yes Michael?
