I already own a bot flag for Wikidata, and for Wikimedia Commons. I would like to apply for a Global bot flag for Wikipedia, since I also amend Wikipedia pages for all languages, based on data and metadata on Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons.
Principal script
One of my principal scripts is copy_label.py. This runs semi-manual based on lists of Wikidata item numbers. It interconnects the three major platforms Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, and Wikipedia. It makes use of the Wikidata polyglot metadata to amend Wikipedia pages. Its major functions are:
Wikidata
- Add symmetric and reciproque (inverse) properties.
- Add language labels (e.g. the mul-label for persons).
- Add commons categories.
Wikimedia Commons
- Add {{Wikidata Infobox}} to Commons Category pages;
- Create Structured data on Wikimedia Commons: Depicts backlink statement for images (P18) or other media files (e.g. graves) on Wikidata items.
Wikipedia
- Adding missing Wikipedia sitelinks.
- Publish the image on Wikipedia pages not having yet an image (with a translated caption in the local language).
- Automatically create Infobox pages on Wikipedia pages not yet having an Infobox.
- Adding missing categories on Wikipedia pages, based on Wikidata category properties, related to the item.
- Adding missing Authority templates for persons.
- Adding Commonscat template
Comply to bot restrictions
- I'am a Wikimedian since 2005, and a professional IT person since 1982.
- The scripts apply max lag logic.
- The scripts don't create duplicate, conflicting or doubtfull statements.
- I maintain a list of Wikipedia sites that don't accept bot updates.
- I react promptly to discussion pages related to my bot.
