Regarding phrasing of the message, first let me tell the context of the message: this message is related to a list of pages which gives pages in order of their number of views. Please note that, 'most frequently viewed' is a very precise expression, and in my opinion we should not omit facts conveyed by it while translating. Suppose we translate as भूयो भूयः this simply means following pages have been viewed many times, but does not carries the expression that the listing is based on 'upper most viewed ones' and not simply 'viewed several times'. So I wanted to include 'superlative' expression somehow.
Regarding use of दृश्यमानानि, it can interfere with the meaning. Because दृश्यमानं chiefly means दिखने वाले rather than देखे जाने वाले (former has a sense of randomly coming in front of our eyes, the later strictly means there is a 'doer' responsible for the act). Though दृष्टानि also has both meanings, but rarely used in the former sense, rather is common in second sense.

General Categorization Standards

Dear Sir, Although I had been long wishing to get involved in Sa.wikipedia.org (and other siblings), it is only now I was able to spare some dedicated time. As I went through the portal, I find there is an urgent need to regularize and refine categorizations.

As a person familiar with this task (in other language wiki portals), I feel that I could be of much help if I get involved in this job.

I am not aware if there has been some serious discussions at the sa.wiki in this regard. If so, please take me to the corresponding link.

In the meanwhile, I would like to suggest that the following points be noted while categorizing.

1. Ideally, every page in a wikipedia should belong to at least one category.
2. Every category should be within a tree structure that ultimately stems into one single top level.
3. Category names should be in general, plurals. (eg: vEdaH v/s vEdaaH or adhyaayaH v/s adhyaayaaH )
4. When numbered titles appear a leading zero to single digit numbers would help in showing up the entire list in good order, automatically sorted in tact.)
5. Every page should have only the necessary but sufficient types of categories. (eg: a sloka in karmayOga may belong to category: Karmayoga. Since Karmayoga already belongs to Category: Bhagavad Gita, the sloka need not be added to Category:Bhagavad Gita (or its higher level categories again.)
6. In general, if there are more than 30 or 40 items in a category, there is something odd about it. There is scope for further categorization in such cases. (Excpet in certain cases (eg. last chapter of Gita with 78 slokas.)

Your method of using Excel is quite useful. In fact, we at ml.wikipedia do a very similar method but instead of using Excel, we use shared Google spreadsheets. This way, different users can share / work / continue a long task. In fact, for Bhagavad gIta, I am already making such a template that I may be able to share you at your Google Documents. This should be very easy for someone who is already familiar with Excel. The important difference is that the document stays on the cloud and not in one's own single computer. There is automatic and complete version control. But more than that, it lets any number of people (with whom you have shared editing rights) work (collaborate) simultaneously and responsibly!

As an example lesson,

1. Please go to your GMail Inbox, Look at the top row where you would see a link "Documents" and click on that.

2. Click Create and then Spreadsheet. Type whatever little you may and save the same. (Give it a specific name).

3. Right Click on the Document (or in menu) and Choose "Share" and then add someone else's e-mail ID. For eg:, you may add my own ID. viswaprabha अट् जीमेयिल् . कोम्. Also choose a 'Send Mail' option and then Close the dialog box.

Soon, I will get a mail and then I will be able to open, view and edit the same document (even simultaneously!).

We can also chat in line (in a special pane at the right side of the document) while we are both at the document.

Vandalism at SaWiki

One user NehalDaveND is regularly creating new articles by copy-pasting material form old articles, which should not be allowed in wikipedia. It is clear vandalism. What about the edit history of those old articles? What is the guideline at SaWiki? Is it allowed at SaWiki? Some examples of his mischiefs:

• Namaskar, "Glad to see you mentioning Vedic." — yes, I read somewhere, after 4th century BC, mainly Panini and other grammarians "modified" "Vedic language", wrote grammar rules (Ashtadhyayi etc.). As the Vedic language was modified at that time, it was known as "Sanskrit Vedic language" or just "Sanskrit" (i.e. modification-->modified, संस्कार-->संस्कृत).
  I actually did not make any translation request, anyway, very recently I read, actually there was not specific script (alphabet) for Sanskrit Vedic language. Generally two scripts were used for Vedic language — Nagari and Devanagari. Nagari script was written without "matra"/मात्रा (the upper line), "Devanagari" had "matra", Devanagari script was used for "Shashtra"/scripture related writing and "Nagari" was used for mainly general writing..
  When "printing system" started in India, there was a confusion among intellects on whether they should use Nagari" or "Devanagari" in print.
  At that time, intellects and punditss felt, as German philosopher Max Müller did his extensive study, research and writing in Devanagari, they shuld use "Devanagari".
  I don't know accuracy of this information. (I can give you a scanned copy of the document where I read it, but it is in Bengali) Now, if we really using Devanagari "in print" today to honour a German philosopher, that is really amazing.
  Anyway, Max Müller was undoubtedly a great Sanskrit researcher, I did not make any translation request, but if you really want to translate an article, could you make a stub on en:Max Müller, the great Sanskrit grammarian? Or do you already have a page on him?

hi, there is some error with welcome message....check my talk page you will see that edit section is not being shown for every section but need...compare it with your talk page it is showing edit option for every section....i did a little experiment and found that it is happening because of welcome message if welcome message is added then edit option is not being shown and if it is removed then edit option is appearing....i suggest you to please edit welcome message template since it is protected so only admins can edit it or else i would have experimented there...better you import the welcome message from hindi wikipedia and translate it in sanskrit...Sushilmishra (चर्चा) १३:५६, २३ मई २०१५ (UTC)

I know basic Sanskrit structure, and I noticed that sandhi is not performed between words at all. Why is that the case? Is that a conscious decision the Sanskrit Wikipedia admin made? नमस्ते, Thanks for writing to me. No decision has been taken regarding this in sa wiki. Absolutely there is no objection if somebody wants to write using sandhi. But we (those who are connected with Samskrita Bharati) believe in bringing new Samskrit literature in simple language so that we can reach more people and serve the real purpose. नमस्ते | Hmm...Speaking for myself and for most people I have met who become educated in Sanskrit, we learn to read Sanskrit that is already in its sandhi form, so it seems really strange to read articles without sandhi, because it sounds unnatural when pronouncing it out. But maybe that is not the case with everyone. Ultimately, we should leave the option for the reader to decide, right? Why don't we create a "sandhi-fier" that will render the articles with sandhi if the reader selects that option? It can be similar to the Devanagari vs. Roman numbers option you have above or the multi-script options that are there in other language Wikipedias. GI edit-a-thon 2016 updates

Geographical Indications in India Edit-a-thon 2016 has started, here are a few updates:

1. More than 80 Wikipedians have joined this edit-a-thon
2. More than 35 articles have been created/expanded already (this may not be the exact number, see "Ideas" section #1 below)
3. Infobox geographical indication has been started on English Wikipedia. You may help to create a similar template for on your Wikipedia.

Become GI edit-a-thon language ambassador

If you are an experienced editor, become an ambassador. Ambassadors are community representatives and they will review articles created/expanded during this edit-a-thon, and perform a few other administrative tasks.

Please translate this event page into your own language. Event page has been started in Bengali, English and Telugu, please start a similar page on your event page too.

Prizes/awards have not been finalized still. These are the current ideas:

Article count and dead-end pages

This wiki keeps going up and down around 10,000 articles, with useless "spam articles" repeatedly being created by anonymous (IP) editors trying to push the wiki past 10,000, only to be deleted later by administrators. If someone could go through विशेषः:निराग्रपृष्टानि and add useful [[wikilinks]] to the (more than 1,000) articles that don't currently have them, then the wiki could legitimately pass 10,000, and maybe stay there permanently. - dcljr (चर्चा) ०९:१०, १८ जून २०१६ (UTC)
